CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS
Epistemology and didactics with media use (2016-2019)
Is there a relation between the conception of knowledge and the pedagogical practice? What is the epistemological view of teachers underlying the discourse of integrating technologies in education? Moreover, information and communication technologies are pointing to a paradigmatic "revolution" of education (Behrens, 2000; Moraes, 2010)? Based on authors such as Sterling (2010), Machado (2002) and Serres (1995), among others, we tried to answer these questions, returning to the field with a new qualitative investigation. Through focus groups with teachers and students, we intend to explore their epistemological conceptions and their relationship with technologies.
Challenges to the sustainability of digital inclusion programs in primary schools (2014-2019)
The research aims to explore the issues relating to the integration of media and digital technologies in the teaching practice of teachers from 8 public schools in elementary school I and II of the city of Rio de Janeiro, and aims to formulate a proposal for teacher training for the integration of ICT in teaching practice. From this perspective, it proposes a reflection on three areas: assessing the strategies that enable economic and cultural sustainability of a project; analyze teaching practices with technology; formulate proposals for teacher training. The research is characterized as action research (DEMO 1996; ELLIOTT 2000, ENGEL, 2000).
ICT, children, youth, school and parental mediation: uses analysis and ICT skills, from CETIC.Br data (2014-2017)
Since 2005, the Brazilian Internet Management Committee (CGI) researches on user profile, modes of use and appropriation of ICT, generating nationwide data with a high degree of detail. This proposal focuses on the analysis of these data in order to formulate hypotheses about the relationship that children, youth, teachers and schools have with the Internet. The study is developed in partnership with other research groups of PPGE PUC-Rio and its bases consolidated source of research ICT Child, ICT Education and ICT Kids Online Brazil.
